Setting up mail forwarding for root to an external address

Send the mail for the root user to an external address.

In order to forward the email for the root user you need to create a .forward file in the root directory

sudo nano /root/.forward

Enter the address you want to forward the mail to in the file and save it. Now all emails will be forwarded to the address you specified.
